The most commonly used layout for dry gas seal (DGS) systems in steam turbines is a single seal with special design features to ensure reliable operation over a wide range of temperatures. This seal operates either on steam directly extracted from the turbine or on pre-cleaned steam if the extracted steam contains a high level of impurities.
Technical specifications:
- Temperature in the sealing area: Up to 480°C
- Sealed pressure: Up to 85 kg/cm²
- Peripheral speed of the rotating seat: Up to 130 m/sec
- Shaft diameter under the seal: Up to 300 mm
